When shipping items to Unidec for repair, if the goods were originally made in the USA (many of our repair items are made in the USA) you may use the following Harmonized tariff code HTSUS 9801.00.10 for exemption.  See more Tariff codes here.

To ship items to the USA for repair from Canada, you must complete a customs declaration and use the correct paperwork. Prepare the item by registering it with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) before it leaves Canada to avoid duties upon re-entry. Ensure the package is clearly marked for repair and include a customs invoice stating the item is being sent for repair, with the value being the cost of the repairs, not the replacement cost.

Unidec will complete a CBP Form 5106 for U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) to establish Unidec as the identity of the importer of record is needed.
